The details
Located near Killington, VT, we are 8 miles from the access road to some of the greatest skiing terrain in the East. the house is located in a managed community with 85 acres of common land to walk, snow shoe, cross country ski. A lovely common swimming pond located right next door to this property. The association has covenants that aesthetically protect the mountainside. This house abuts common land that will never be built on.
The house has been completely renovated and landscaped over the last ten years.
There is a spa bathroom. A white marble shower with a Corian base built for two (or one!) with three shower heads, that operate singly or in different combinations. A six foot Koeler oval soak tub set in a bay window so you look out into the woods while you relax in your tub, italian chocolate marble tub surround. A glass vessel sink with Greek Thassos Marble counter top. The vanity is hand crafted by a vermont cabinet maker of black walnut and shelving to match. An incredible black walnut floor, the thick rough sawn black walnut boards were soothed and planed here to create the floor. There is radiant heat in the floor of the bathroom and also in the shower walls, no cold feeling getting into a shower. There is a true artesian well here that fills the tub quickly and plenty of on demand hot water to go with it all. Out the side door from the bathroom you look out onto a custom deck with your own 4 person hot springs vanguard hot tub.
The hot tub looks out over the gardens and across the valley to the mountains beyond.
There is an updated heating system which is base board hot water and radiant heat with an oil furnace with three heating zones. There is also a custom installed new pacific energy wood stove fireplace insert complete with blower in the upstairs living room area, to add a warm glow and a source of auxiliary heat.
Two bedrooms, yet the house still has a three bedroom permit. I turned the small bedroom into a laundry room, but left the permit as three in case we wanted to add another room on someday. There is nothing like sleeping in the quiet of this end of road location with only one other house located on the road.
Custom cedar closet. Lots of storage space for both bedrooms.
One spa bathroom. What the realtors call a designer bathroom.
Wood stove insert, with glass door for viewing. The chimney has been re-pointed and relined. Freshly coated with stucco.
Cathedral ceilings with lots of glass, so you feel in the midst of the wildlife.
New standing seem roof, you'll never have to replace it.
Total rooms six.
Total square feet 1054.
All Appliances included. Washer, dryer. The refrigerator, dishwasher stove and oven of course. And the hot tub.
Now that all the work is done it's a very low maintenance efficient house. Would make a great weekend and vacation spot that you wouldn't have to hassle with, it's all done!
